Our Mission
YES is committed to supporting homeless and at-risk young people; promoting stability, growth and the ability to thrive.
Our Story
YES provides critical support to youth and young adults of Pend Oreille County in eastern Washington. YES was founded in 2012 to fill the gap in emergency services for at-risk youth and young adults. Since that time, it has expanded to provide broad-specturm support and empowerment for young people including everything from food and shelter to counseling; advocacy in educational and legal matters to exploring career options and developing innate passions.
In 2022, YES moved into a new space, centrally located and easily accessible which serves as both headquarters and a safe space for young people to see a friendly face, access resources, grab a snack, or just get some much needed rest during the day.

For Youth & Young Adults
Counseling
Need someone to talk to? Are you in a situation that feels unsafe? Relationship trouble with parents, siblings, friends, or partner? We’ve all been there! Our staff is committed to holding a safe space for you, and helping you find the resource you need to thrive.
In Washington State, teens age 13 and older can request counseling services without the consent of their parent. A parent cannot request to see the records of counseling without the written consent of that teen. LEARN MORE
Food Assistance
Are you hungry? Nearly 49% of households in Washington don’t always have enough to eat. It’s amazing what a difference a full stomach can make when you’re trying to study, or find a job, or move from Diamond III to Elite. We have a food bank with everything from snacks to staples, so you can get a boost now, and have a good breakfast tomorrow. LEARN MORE
Shelter When You Need It
It’s a big, wide world out there and it’s always changing. A warm and safe place to stay helps us feel relaxed and secure, and helps us function better in all the other areas of our life. In selecting a place to stay, it is very important to use good judgment.
If you need a place to stay, contact YES (509) 671-7293, and we will help you find a safe and warm place to stay. LEARN MORE
Volunteers
Volunteer your time
Youth and young adults need assistance for many reasons. Some are escaping a home where there is substance abuse. Some left neglectful or abusive situations. Some have parents that are absent, deceased or incarcerated. Most are not receiving the physical, medical or emotional care they need and deserve. No matter your skills or schedule, there are ways for you to get involved and help! LEARN MORE
Make a donation
Do you have resources you can share to support the youth and young adults in our community? Things we can always use include good, nutritious food; toiletries; school supplies; art supplies; household consumables; and financial donations. LEARN MORE
Provide a host home
We know from research that youth experiencing homelessness are best supported when they are able to remain in the communities where they are comfortable, have friends, attend school, and go to work. For this reason, the goal of the YES Host Home program is to recruit, screen, and provide support to volunteers who are willing to open their homes to young people ages 13 through 24 in their own communities who are experiencing homelessness or have unstable housing.
